Westbury shop and cafe has been established as a not-for-profit community initiative and has recently undergone some exciting new changes.
Hellen has recently taken over the management of the shop and café with an increased emphasis on the café. We will continue to sell local products (including wine from our local award winning winery and Blackpit ales from the Blackpit Brewery) and a few necessities, with an aim to increasing the seating and tables in the café so we can provide for more people. Hellen with the help of Maddie will be working alongside our lovely local volunteers.
The vintage-style café, offering free wi-fi, serves freshly brewed tea and real coffee and delicious cakes including gluten-free (made by Hellen & committee members) and pastries. We have a new menu which we will continue to improve, for both eating in and taking away. Any requests or suggestions would be welcome.
We are proud to be wheelchair friendly, have ample parking – including disabled spaces adjacent to the building. We are also child & baby friendly – we have a few highchairs and even offer babychinos! There is a large newly revamped play area opposite suitable for all ages.
“I highly recommend this little shop. It’s really well stocked and you can buy hot drinks and sit inside or outside to enjoy a brief respite!” – Ina Wallace

Shop and Café Committee
The shop and café benefits enormously from the input of the Committee: Sue Lucas (Chair), Jo Lee (Vice Chair), Suzie Walton (Treasurer), John Heal (Secretary), Ros Christian (Publicity), Rosemary Vigus and Hazel Rainbow.
During August 2019, members of the Community Shop and Cafe, Sue Lucas & Ros Christian, had a very interesting and informative meeting with Aimee Evans, Project Manager, Plunkett Foundation and Helen Fagan, Grants Manager, Princes Countryside Fund. Maria and Toby also gave them an insight into the running of the Shop & Cafe and the pleasure they gained from working alongside our manager, Hellen Sermons & her invaluable team of volunteers (see photos in the carousel above).
